E-mail, or electronic mail, was one of the first social mediums available to visitors in cyber space.  Developed by Ray Tomlinson in 1971, e-mail originally allowed users to only post mail messages to individual accounts across a single network.

The Internet turns traditional marketing on its head. If you think in terms of physical business vs. virtual business, you get a far bigger bang for your buck on the Internet. But it's not just vendors who are obtaining sales on the Internet.
