View all articles by Shannon MillerI know as a mom that it can be hard at times to make time for our children. I am not talking about being in the same room as your children. I am talking about sitting down with them and doing something that they want with them. I feel that it is a part of any parent?s duty to spend what I call special time with your children. I would define special time as getting in the floor reading, coloring, painting, playing a game or playing with toys.
You could even watch an educational program with them. Children feel that they are so special because mom and dad are taking time out of their busy schedules to just spend time with them. I know that a parent?s busy day can make it hard to squeeze in that special time but no matter what you should at least give your child 15 minutes a day. If you see your day is getting away from you and you don?t think you can get that time in. Stop what you are doing at your child?s bath time and play with them then. At least you will have some time with them. A little time is better than no time.
I am not trying to say that you have to spend every waking moment with your kids, but it will make a difference in your child?s life. If you let your child know when special time is everyday they will be more willing to wait
